Introduction

Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC), PROFECO and Whirlpool Corporation.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately contact Whirlpool to arrange for a product remedy, including a free replacement. Unit should be turned off at the circuit breaker, unless it is necessary to use on an interim basis. Do not leave flammable materials or empty cookware on or near the cooktop.

For more information, consumers may contact Whirlpool at 1-888-900-7897 on Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 8:00pm EST. Consumers may also visit the company's recall website where they can check if their product is affected and receive additional information.

Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.

Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
