Issue

In certain circumstances, the clutch pressure plate could overheat and break. If this happens, the pressure plate may also crack or break the transmission case. This could cause debris to fall from the vehicle.

Safety Risk

Debris from an overheated and fractured pressure plate could contact nearby parts and increase the risk of a fire. Parts that fall from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others, and increase the risk of injury.

Corrective Actions

FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update vehicle software. This update will reduce the engine power if the clutch overheats.
