Issue

On certain trucks, a leak around the windshield could allow water to collect in the connector for the recirculation door actuator for the heating and air condition system. This could lead to damage of the wiring and other parts. As a result, the air conditioning and heating systems may not work properly. There could also be a chance of a short circuit.

Safety Risk

A short circuit could create the risk of fire.

Corrective Actions

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and provide information on how to inspect for water leaks around the windshield. This is particularly important if the windshield has been replaced. Any repairs necessary to fix a leak or replace parts will be at the owner's expense.
