Issue

On certain motorcycles, the throttle grip tube can break if it is pulled with too much force. If this happens, the throttle may not rotate smoothly and could stick while you are riding.

Safety Risk

A throttle that sticks could cause a loss of control and result in a crash.

Corrective Actions

Yamaha will contact owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to inspect the throttle tube and replace the handlebar grip end.
