Issue
On certain trailer-mounted generators, the bolts connecting the wiring to the voltage selector switch may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the connections could become loose and cause a short circuit and/or electrical arcing (sparks).
Safety Risk
A short circuit and/or electrical arcing could create the risk of electric shock.
Corrective Actions
To reduce the safety risk, Cummins advises that when the generator is running, you should avoid contact with the generator's metal enclosure. Cummins will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer-mounted generator to a Cummins authorized service center to inspect and, if necessary, tighten the bolted connections for the voltage selector switch.
